In 2013, Owen’s family moved from New England to the Dallas-Fort Worth area, seeking better opportunities to support his growth and development as a child with spina bifida. In DFW, they discovered a vibrant community of adaptive sports programs that would transform Owen’s life.

Through these programs, Owen not only improved his physical health but also developed confidence, resilience, and a sense of belonging. Adaptive sports provided him with opportunities to refine his skills, overcome challenges, and foster meaningful connections within a supportive community.

Now, at just 16 years old, Owen has reached remarkable milestones, including receiving offers from multiple colleges and universities to continue competing at the collegiate level. Adaptive sports have paved the way for his higher education and independence, giving him a future filled with possibilities. His journey highlights the life-changing power of adaptive sports and their ability to empower children with disabilities to achieve their dreams.
